Melissa signed early as a college pitcher out of High School and enjoyed every minute of her time on the mound and 1st base at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor. Her college career playing ball set her up to overcome any obstacle that comes her way and quickly learned how to lean on the Lord, persevere and overcome. POWER OF ONE

“We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.” “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” “I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.” “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” “God doesn’t require us to succeed, he only requires that you try.” “It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.” “If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one.” -Mother Teresa (Bojaxhiu)

MAKE A DIFFERENCE

One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?” The youth replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.” “Son,” the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t make a difference!” After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said…“I made a difference for that one.” -Story by: Loren Eisley
